Absolutely horrific. Made a sick visit, they had my ins and decided to wait until I got there to verify it. Kept trying to tell me that even though I met my deductible and co-insurance that I still owed them a copay to be seen. One Ins is claiming I had an old ins as active. Tried to resolve the issue with the ins companies giving the office all the information they needed to prove it was cancelled 2 years ago. Receptionist was beyond rude and immediately wanted to reschedule. The other girl just sat there playing on her cell phone. Asked for the business manager and instead the receptionist went to go gossip while everyone else joined her. Not a single other patient in the office, tried to tell me it was Medicaid fraud (I don't have Medicaid and they had proof that I didn't as well as the fact that I only have my private insurance). After an hour, and still not a single other patient at 5pm, I walked out hysterical, still being refused to be seen. Office came highly recommended and those who referred me feel awful. I'm too sick to have to fight office staff for care when the proof is right in front of you.
Had a really great experience here today. It was quick and easy, and I'm already starting to feel better. Everyone was polite and hospitable.
I have had many bad experiences here. So this will be the short version of what could be a novel. For starters My medical records that were on file magically disappeared and no one knew what antibiotics I had previously been prescribed (this was back in may) last month my insurance information magically disappeared because of a “change in the system” AGAIN. I was told I couldn’t be seen without a hard copy of my card even though I had a picture. Then at the last minute they decided to see me. At my last appointment they sent my medication to the wrong pharmacy TWICE and one of them never got sent at all. Then the office staff gave me the worst attitude ever when I had to call to get it figured out. “ I don’t know what else you want me to do for you, you have called five times today” is the response after waiting about two hours between each call because I could never get someone to answer the phone. that is not acceptable. Finally I had to cancel the whole thing and figure it out myself because I couldn’t get help from any of the staff and honestly got tired of the attitude I was getting on behalf of THEIR mistake. I finally got my medication and went back today for a follow up. One week ahead of time, I made an appointment with Amy a nurse practitioner. ( the only person I’ve had good experience with here, she’s great, so sorry Amy) my appointment was at 8:20 am. Every time I come here they try to change my appointment time at the last minute and usually I just do it because I don’t want to be a bother, but today I had a meeting. Again my appointment was at 8:20. At 8:15 I get a call from the office staff asking to move my appointment back AN HOUR. WITH FIVE MINUTES NOTICE. I said no, I have somewhere to be at 10:00. Well obviously it didn’t matter to them because I never even saw anyone until 9:20. I was about to leave and never come back but I figured since I already paid my copay I mite as well stay. I talked to Amy and things went fine, but I told her I couldn’t deal with this places dis function and I was going to find a new place to go. She was concerned and as me to speak to Dr. Vann. He came in and at first he said he knew who it was that was rude and that he would say something, then as I was trying to explain my reasoning for leaving and all the stuff I’ve been through, he cut me off, said that his staff was fine because “people have been going there for 30 years” and stormed out like a child. I can not believe that he acted the way he did as the face of the practice. That speaks louder to me than anything. I wouldn’t be writing this if he had came in treated me with respect and actually took what I was saying into consideration, instead of getting defensive and angry because of something his staff did. so needless to say I will NEVER be going back to this place and I honestly should have learned after the first visit. I got out of there at 10:00 for an appointment I made a week in advance for 8:20. Mind you this was a follow up not an actual appointment. All I had to do was say yes the medication works and move along. Sooo, If your looking for a place that sees walk ins before an appointment you made a week in advance, you want your prescriptions to be sent to the wrong pharmacy every time, and a place where it takes two days to get someone on the phone GO TO MCINTOSH TRAIL.
Walked in was seen the same day. Small wait, due to amount of walk ins. Level of care and professionalism was remarkable.
So good to be back with doctors I know that give personalized care to their patients. Tired of the big conglomerates that are impersonal and a hassle to deal with.
